How Parents Can Help
Volunteering and parent rosters
Any help you can offer is always greatly appreciated! Each session a parent is rostered on to stay and helps us with the program. This is also a fantastic opportunity to see your child learning and playing in the pre-school environment.
Parents are asked to volunteer for two duties per term. On your rostered day you will help with the preparation of fruit, and possibly to help with other tasks such as photocopying, displaying childrens work and/or cutting required materials. Parental involvement is essential if the kindergarten is to function in a smooth and efficient manner. If you cannot attend kindergarten duty on your rostered day, please organise to swap with another parent and advise the teacher beforehand.
Fruit for sharing
Please supply a piece of fruit each session for sharing during snack time. You can be adventurous with what you bring to share, and it doesn't have to be just fruit ... it could be dried fruit, cheese, dips, hard-boiled eggs ... anything (healthy)!
Laundry
Families in our three-year-old group will be rostered on for washing duty (via a duty roster). This consists of table cloths, towels and smocks. Washing should be returned at your child's next kinder session.
Sweeping/garden duty
To help ensures our playground is clean and safe for our children, there is a yard roster for the parents of children in the four-year-old program. Each weekend a different family will be responsible for coming to kinder and sweeping/blowing in and around the sheltered areas. You will only need to do this once for the year.
